Skin Peeling Treatments
This treatment uses the Dermaceutic range of professional chemical peels to accelerate the skin’s natural exfoliation in a controlled way, so that new skin can grow in its place.
It’s a non-invasive and progressive technique using glycolic acid, which is entirely natural and very efficient.
Chemical peels can be done on the face, neck, decollete and back of hands.
Glycolic Peel Treatments

- The Epidermis: this is the outer layer that we see
- The Dermis: the inner layer made up of connective tissue such as collagen and elastin, and provides structural support
- The subcutaneous tissue: the lower layer containing fat cells, that make the skin look plump and full
- The epidermis to thin and cells lose their ability to retain moisture
- The dermis thins and produces less collagen and the elastin fibres responsible for elasticity begin to wear out
- The subcutaneous fat cells shrink and no longer provide good support for the other two layers
- Excess free radicals
- Environment such as chemicals and sun exposure
- Lifestyle, including stress, diet, alcohol and smoking
- Insufficient hydration both in and out!
- Hormonal fluctuations and imbalances
- Vitamin and mineral deficiencies
Why have a Glycolic Peel?
Glycolic acid is a type of Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) derived from sugar cane. Due to its smaller molecular size, glycolic acid is more effective than other AHAs and when used correctly can improve the look and feel of the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and age spots and is suitable for all skin types.
Glycolic acid works primarily through its exfoliation properties, it penetrates the upper layers of the epidermis, dissolving dead skin cells to reveal the fresher underlying skin. It is particularly effective for skin rejuvenation because of the following unique properties:
- Exfoliates by thoroughly removing the uneven, rough layer of dead skin cells. The outer epidermis is smoother, fresher and more compact as a result.
- Penetrates through the upper layer of skin to encourage exfoliation from the bottom up, diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Increases moisture retention by binding with water and pulling it through the epidermis, improving skin hydration and overall skin health.
- Loosening dead skin cells, it aids the removal of blackheads and other skin impurities and helps stimulate collagen production within the dermis.
- Skin rejuvenation treatments aid the remodelling of the epidermal and supporting dermal structures to gain improved skin texture, firmness and hydration.
